Who we are

Gabriella Moreira Biokineticist is a private biokinetics practice operated by Gabriella Moreira, a HPCSA-registered Biokineticist (Registration No. BK 0041939) based at St. John's College, St David Road, Houghton Estate, Johannesburg.

This policy explains how we handle personal information submitted through this website, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Information we collect

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it through the contact form on this website. This may include:

• Your full name
• Email address
• Phone number
• The reason for your enquiry
• Any additional information you include in your message

Separately from the contact form, we use the measurement tools described under Cookies and analytics below. Those tools never receive the contents of the form.

How we use your information

Information submitted through the contact form is used solely to respond to your enquiry, answer your questions or confirm a booking. We will not:

• Sell your personal information to any third party
• Share your information with marketers or data brokers
• Use your information for any purpose other than responding to your direct enquiry

Email processing — Resend

Contact form submissions are transmitted via Resend (resend.com), a US-based transactional email service. Resend acts as a data processor on our behalf — it delivers the email notification to us and does not store, sell or process your personal information for its own purposes. Resend is GDPR-compliant and operates under a data processing agreement.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses two measurement tools to understand how people find the practice and whether they are able to get in touch:

• Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) — measures visits to the site.
• Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) — measures visits and enquiries that follow from our advertising on Facebook and Instagram.

Both use cookies and similar technologies. In general terms they receive: the device and browser you are using, your approximate location derived from your IP address, which pages you viewed and in what order, and which buttons you clicked — for example that someone tapped a WhatsApp, call or booking link, or that an enquiry form was successfully submitted.

No health information and no form contents are shared with them. We never send your name, phone number, email address, the message you wrote or anything about your condition, symptoms or treatment to Google or Meta. Where an enquiry is recorded, only the fact that it happened and the category you picked from the dropdown are counted — never what you typed.

Standard browser session information (such as your IP address and browser type) may also be logged temporarily by our hosting provider, Vercel, as part of normal server operation.

How to opt out

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also offer a private or incognito window, which discards them when you close it.
• Install Google's official Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Adjust your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences to limit the use of activity from websites and apps.
• Use your browser's tracking protection, or any reputable ad or tracker blocker. The site works normally when these tools are blocked.

Data retention

Enquiry emails are retained in our email inbox for as long as is reasonably necessary to manage the patient relationship or as required by applicable law. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time.

Your rights under POPIA

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• Be notified when your personal information is being collected
• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Object to the processing of your personal information
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.gov.za)
