About these terms

These terms and conditions govern your use of the Gabbio Biokinetics website (gabbio.co.za) and your engagement with biokinetics services provided by Gabriella Moreira. By using this website or booking a session, you agree to these terms.

Nature of service — healthcare, not emergency care

Biokinetics is a registered allied health profession focused on exercise-based rehabilitation and chronic condition management. Services provided at Gabbio Biokinetics are not emergency medical care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 10177 (Emergency Medical Services) or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.

The information provided on this website is for general educational purposes and does not constitute medical advice. Always consult a qualified health professional before beginning any exercise programme, particularly if you have an existing condition or recent injury.

Appointments and cancellations

We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice or missed without notice may be charged at the full session rate.

Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in loss of booking privileges. We understand that emergencies happen — please contact us as soon as possible if your circumstances change.

Medical aid — patient's responsibility

It is your responsibility to verify your medical aid benefits before attending a session. While we are happy to assist with general guidance on how to check your benefits, we cannot guarantee what your specific plan will or will not reimburse. Benefit limits, scheme rules and available benefits change annually and differ between plans.

Any shortfall between the amount charged and the amount reimbursed by your medical aid remains your responsibility. Gabbio Biokinetics is not liable for any claim rejected by your medical aid scheme.

Limitation of liability

Gabriella Moreira and Gabbio Biokinetics will at all times exercise reasonable professional care in delivering services. However, no rehabilitation process is without inherent risk. Gabbio Biokinetics will not be held liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from participation in sessions where the patient has:

• Failed to disclose a relevant medical condition or contraindication
• Not followed prescribed exercise guidelines or medical advice
• Participated against the advice of a treating clinician

Our liability is limited to the value of the session(s) directly at issue. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct as required by South African law.

Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, images, design and programme materials — is the intellectual property of Gabbio Biokinetics and may not be reproduced, distributed or used commercially without written permission.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these terms or from services provided by Gabbio Biokinetics shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
